Brisk Weather for the Wearing o’ the Green in Seaside Heights
You’ve likely heard the expression ”when there’s nothing to talk about you talk about the weather.”
Even if there was a lot to talk about the weather would still be a subject because we got fooled in February into thinking that winter was basically over. March has been brutal and we face the prospects of another storm and more cold weather next week as we can’t seem to get out of a bad pattern.
Spring arrives in another ten days but clearly spring-like weather still seems rather far away.
There is some good news as it looks like the weather condition will be pretty favorable for tomorrow’s Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Seaside Heights. It will be brisk but if you dress warmly you should be able to enjoy the sounds and sites that have made that one of my favorite events.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to head over the bridge but if you’re at Klee’s in Seaside Heights then raise a glass for me.
For the second straight year the basketball season for the Manchester girls team ended with a loss to Manasquan in the Group 2 semifinals. The Big Blue Warriors rolled to a 63-41 win last night behind Dara Mabrey’s 21 points and will shoot for their fifth consecutive group title on Sunday in Toms River.
Meanwhile the future is indeed very bright for the Hawks, who will return their top four scorers next season.
The Toms River North girls had their Group 4 semifinal game against Hunterdon Central postponed until tonight at Timber Creek High School. If the Mariners win they will play for the group title on Sunday in the friendly confines of the RWJBarnabas Health Arena.
