A Brick Township woman is sliced with a box cutter during a purse snatching incident near Herbertville Road Thursday afternoon.

Brick Police say the 38-year-old female resident was walking along a trail near the Township Fire Training Center when she was attacked by three young black males. Police say the victim told them that one of the suspects was attempting to steal her purse by cutting the shoulder strap with a box cutter and in the process cut the her right hand.

Two of the suspects were seen running south on Maple Avenue and another, into a wooded area near the Fire Training Center.

A search by Police and K-9 units were unsuccessful.

The suspects are described as teenaged, light skin black males, one wearing a red hooded jacket, one wearing a black and yellow jacket and the third wearing a black leather jacket.

The victim was treated on scene by Brick Police EMS and transported to the Ocean Medical Center in Brick for treatment.
