Brick Township Woman Admits Embezzling Manasquan Firm While CFO
The former chief financial officer of a Manasquan-based drug marketing firm awaits April 11 sentencing for taking about $130,000 of company money through its payroll system.
Janet Farese, 55, of Brick, pleaded guilty to second-degree theft in Freehold, according to acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Grammiccioni's office. Authorities are recommending five years in prison and a civil judgement yet to be determined.
At Granard Pharmaceuticals Sales and Marketing, investigators said, Farese was the clearing house for payroll information submitted to its processing company.
She admitted inflating her own paychecks and authorizing extra ones for herself during a span of two years, prosecutors said.
