William Chapman, 19, and Dale Kessler, 22, of Sawmill Road in the township were charged late Wednesday with robbery and aggravated assault in connection with the attack on Rick Hatch, 20, in a garage at his relative's house on Harding Drive.

Police say Hatch reported being punched and kicked in the head before losing consciousness, reawakening later to find $60 dollars missing from his pocket.  Hatch was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of lacerations, contusions and facial fractures. It was there that he offered descriptions of the suspects to investigators.

After their arrest, Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels set bail for each at $200,000.

Brick Township Police say that the probe is still open. Anyone with information that can help investigators should call Detective Erik Olsen, 732-262-1120.
