Brick Township K9 team completes explosives training
Brick Township police enhance their public safety mission - and bomb scares have fewer chances of succeeding - as Officer John Turrin and his K9 partner Vader complete explosive-detecting training.
The team trained at the New Jersey State Police Academy in Hamilton, specializing in detection of ammunition, incendiary devices and bombs.
Police used a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to cover the costs of obtaining Vader, the training, and the team's vehicle. Officer Turrin will join the patrol division.
