Brick Stabbing Victim Survives, Probe Continues
A Brick Township 33-year-old is recovering from stab wounds he incurred during a Monday-night incident now under police investigation, and the suspect is being held on $75,000 bail.
Thomas Mitchell, 34, also of Brick was apprehended at about 3 A.M. by local police in connection with the attack on Richard Peal. Peal was stabbed in the abdomen and sustained a face laceration.
A caller to the department shortly after 10 P.M. told police that a man had been beaten during what appeared to be an argument. Brick police and MONOC paramedics tended Peal until he was sent to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. His wounds are considered non-life-threatening.
Mitchell was found and arrested a few hours later. He’s charged with aggravated assault and weapons counts.
