Brick Police are looking to speak with any witnesses of a Tuesday accident around 6:04 pm where a pedestrian was hit by a car along Brick Boulevard near Duquesne Boulevard and North Lakeshore Drive.

Elsa Romero, 52, of Toms River had been traveling south on Brick Boulevard in her 2005 Chevrolet Impala in the left travel lane between Duquesne Boulevard and North Lakeshore Drive when police say the pedestrian, Samuel Sanchez, 32, of Brick, entered the road near the Yokahoma restaurant and stepped in front of the car who had the right of way.

The right side front fender and mirror of vehicle hit Sanchez causing him to fall to the ground where he injured his head and hands.

He was later transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by the Brick Township Police Department's Emergency Medical Services for an evaluation.

The driver was unharmed in the crash.

Vehicular traffic on Brick Boulevard was detoured around the scene for about an hour and a half during the investigation.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Patrolman Donnelly and Patrolman Lampiasi of the Brick Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit.
