Brick Police Chief announces Retirement

Brick Township Police Chief Nils R. Bergquist is retiring after 39 years on the job, including 35 years in Brick.

Bergquist announced his retirement on the department's Facebook page, saying his last day will be December 1, 2015. He has served as Police Chief for nearly eight years and was promoted to the post in 2008.

Bergquist expressed his gratitude to the people of Brick and recognized the support of the Mayor, Township Council, and municipal employees.

Bergquist plans on staying in Brick with his wife Donna.
