Around 5:30 p.m. Friday evening, the officers observed two men, who appeared to be making a drug deal in the Target parking lot.

Police say as the detectives approached the suspects and identified themselves, one man backed his Ford Escape into an unmarked police car and nearly hit an officer.

The suspect, later identified as 29 year old Joseph Misyack, of Lakewood, fled from the scene onto Cedar Bridge Ave.

Brick Patch reports police found and arrested Misyack 15 minutes later in a wooded area between the Cedar Garden Apartments and homes on Duquesne Blvd.

Misyack is being held at Brick Police headquarters facing multiple drug charges, as well as aggravated assault on a police officer and numerous motor vehicle infractions.

The other suspect was identified as 28 year old Michael Conte of Toms River.  He remained on the scene and was arrested on drug possession charges.

The incident is still under investigation.
