The owner and manager of a Brick pet store faces 42 counts of animal cruelty.

According to a report from Patch of Brick the 38 charges filed by the NJSPCA against Puppies Galore owner Maria Desantis were related to failure to provide veternary care to puppies.

Store manager Nathan Sladkin faces 4 counts for allegedly failing to provide proper shelter and water to puppies. Officials say nearly all the puppies removed from the pet store last month were mildly ill, four of them seriously.
