Brick Police are on the look out for a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a female jogger this week. The incident was reported around 10:30 a.m.Thursday April 10th after the runner fled the Sawmill Bike Trail.

The jogger told police that she spotted the male suspect about a quarter mile from the Burnt Tavern parking area standing off to the side of the trail. She said it was then that she realized the man had begun chasing her and actually caught up with her just enough to grab her cloths.

The victim said she was able to push the suspect's hand away and continue running to the parking area where her car was located, losing sight of the man. That's when she was able to make it to her vehicle and leave the area.

Township police said were unable to locate the suspect when they searched the Sawmill Bike Trail. The suspect is described as in his 20's or 30's, around 5'7 or 5'9, medium build and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Detective Gregory Mullarkey at 732-262-1122 or the main police department number at 732-262-1100.
