As we get ready to kick off the summer next Monday at Breakwater Beach Waterpark in Seaside Heights they'll be jumping in to help break a world record this week!

On Thursday (June 22), over 300 participants will all get ready to get wet, along with thousands more in over 20 countries, as they try to break the Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Swimming Lesson.

It's all part of an effort to get a simple message out - that swimming lessons can literally save lives.

According to the organizers of The World's Largest Swimming Lesson, "Drowning is responsible for more deaths among children ages 1-4 than any other cause" outside of birth defects.

So now, as summer is literally only hours away, it's the perfect time to teach your kids to swim and and make water safety a top priority as kids and adults alike flock to water parks, public pools, backyard pools, and even the ocean as the summer heat gets ready to bear down on us!

The World's Largest Swimming Lesson world record event will take place at Breakwater Beach Waterpark this Thursday starting at 11am. You can get more info on the event's Facebook page.
