Breaking: Freehold Mall theater reportedly evacuated

An apparent threat sent to the Freehold Raceway mall triggered a closure around the perimeter and a reported evacuation of the AMC theater there Monday evening.

The Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS Facebook page carried an advisory to avoid the area, specifying the theater in the mall fronting Route 9.

Freehold Township police related to News 12 NJ that it was a bomb threat. The search was concentrated on the theater and had no apparent effect on nearby businesses.
