Body of unidentified man discovered in Camden County creek

Authorities in Camden County are trying to identify the body of a man who was discovered in an Oaklyn creek by two fisherman Tuesday afternoon.

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Oaklyn Police Chief Mark Moore said in a press releasethat "an investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found in a borough creek today."

According to the prosecutor's office, two men were fishing in a creek near the White Horse Pike when they discovered the body. Oaklyn Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m.

The man, who was described as a black male, possibly in his 30s, was pulled from the water by crews from the Collingswood Fire Department.

"Detectives are working to positively identify the man. An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow to attempt to determine a cause and manner of death," the press release stated.
