The Atlantic County Medical Examiner says the death of a man, who's body was discovered in the basin of a quarry in Egg Harbor Township Friday this morning, was a drowning. The unidentified male was found by workers of the Twisted Dunes Golf Club floating in water at a quarry bordering the golf club on Ocean Heights Avenue.

An autopsy conducted Friday afternoon revealed the cause of death to be asphyxia due to drowning. However, the manner of death is pending an investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

Anyone with information should contact the Major Crimes Unit at (609) 909-7666 or the Egg Harbor Police Department at (609) 927-5200.
