A gunman is still on the loose following a shooting at the birthday party for a 15-year-old girl in Hamilton Township that left one person dead and four injured Friday night.

A gunman opened fire in the home on Deutz Avenue in the Mercer County community around 11:12 p.m. last night according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office where the  with around 100 people was going on.

17 year old Shakir Williams of Trenton was shot in the chest and killed.  A 16-year-old boy, an 18-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys were injured in the shooting. One of the 17-year-old victims took shots to the chest, an arm, a leg and the groin and required surgery. He remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition following five hours of surgery at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

Police are pursing lead to apprehend the unidentified gunman and offered no description.

No one in the family living at the home is a suspect in the shooting.
As sirens filled the air around the home, much crying and wailing can be heard; someone was crying "why, why" as a young female in handcuffs was taken away by police; her connection to the shooting is unknown.

Police are actively investigating a motive for the shooting and whether the gunman was an invited guest at the party.
