According to the Asbury Park Press, the male juvenile rider was on the roller coaster’s return trip to the station near the track when the incident occurred early Thursday evening.

Park officials say he was treated at a hospital for minor face and neck injuries. However, they say the ride was immediately shut down and the State Department of Community Affairs was notified.
