Big Day Today at The Ocean County Library!

Today (9/18) The Ocean County Library will celebrate “90 Brilliant Years” of service to the more than 577,000 residents of Ocean County with not one birthday party but 17. Each party will be unique but each one will include refreshments, balloons and lots of fun.

Here's a list of all the activities for today .....

• The Toms River Branch at 101Washington St., serves as headquarters to the Ocean County Library. The branch will start its festivities at 2 p.m. Activities include a brief ceremony by Ocean County Library officials and special guests. Sparks, the magenta dragon mascot of the library will stop by at 2:30 p.m. and a musical program will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by refreshments. For additional information call 732-349-6200.

• The Barnegat Branch located at 112 Burr St. will start its celebration at 2 p.m. The event will feature Joel Mott, a speaker from the New Jersey Pinelands Commission and refreshments sponsored by the Friends of the Barnegat Library. For additional information call 609-698-3331.

• The Beachwood Branch located at 126 Beachwood Blvd. will hold its party at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Beachwood Library. For additional information call 732-244-4573.

• The Berkeley Branch located at 30 Station Road will hold its party at noon. The branch’s celebration will include a visit by Sparks and other special guests.  Refreshments will be served. For additional information call 732-269-2144.

• The Island Heights Branch located at 121 Central Ave. will start their party at 3:30 p.m. For additional information call 732-270-6266.

• The Jackson Branch located at 2 Jackson Drive will start its party at 11 a.m. It will feature a performance by Barry Rosenzweig and a visit by Sparks. Tours of the library will be conducted. • The Lacey Branch located at 10 East Lacey Road, Forked River will host its party at 3 p.m. The celebration will include a scavenger hunt, a raffle drawing and refreshments. For additional information call 609-693-8566.

• The Little Egg Harbor Branch located at 290 Mathistown Road will start celebrating at noon with a birthday cake and a screening of the film “Age of Adeline.” For additional information call 609-294-1197.

• The Manchester Branch located at 21 Colonial Drive will start its festivities at 1 p.m. The branch’s celebration will include an autographed book and gift basket raffle, Sparks themed craft event and refreshments. For additional information call 732-657-7600.
