Vincent Spataro, 63, of Silver Ridge Park, is charged with one second-degree count of distribution, and one third-degree count of possession, according to the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. Bail was set at a full $50,000 in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River.

Investigators, executing a warrant, seized computers and hard drives, on which detectives found videos and still images of minors engaged in sex acts, authorities said.

A referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, instigated the probe.

Members of the U.S. Immigraiton and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Prosecutor's High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) took part in the search with Berkeley Township police.

Convicton on a second-degree charge means a possible sentence of five to 10 years, plus fines. Third-degree charges carry possible sentences of three to five years.

Criminal charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
