"Our program engages children and introduces them to concepts and skills that are age-appropriate and exciting for our young friends," Amato said, adding that affordability is also a primary goal.

Children age 2 1/2 to 5 are eligible for enrollment. The program follows the township school district calendar, meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 AM until 11:30 AM in the Recreation Center in Bayville, and has a fee of $140 every six weeks.

"The morning consists of fun and educational programs for the kids such as learning their letters, numbers, writing skills and making new friends," Recreation Supervisor Debra Reuter added."Children will learn the basic fundamentals before heading off to kindergarten."

Parents enrolling in the program should provide snacks for theri children.
