According to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, investigators Saturday traced the point of origin to a couch aligned with the north wall of the family room at 77 Encinitas Drive.

County K-9 teams trained to detect flammable fluids produced negative results, but investigators conducted a second round of interviews to corroborate earlier discussions, authorities said.

Authorities say that the victim was alone in the house. They dismiss rumors that the blaze was intentionally set by someone familiar with the vicitm.

The victim's identity has yet to be released, pending confirmation by the county Medical Examiner.
