Two white males who used the ruse of being package delivery men tied them up but left them unhurt after looting the Zeeland Drive house in Silver Ridge on November 29, police said.

Police were alerted at about 5:30 PM. Investigators were told that the suspects wore no uniforms that would indicate delivery service, and produced no identification. They were described as wearing hooded shirts and gloves.

Once barging into the house, they forced the couple to separate rooms and held them at bay with guns while they took valuables, police said.

The probe is still open. Anyone who can add information to it is urged to call the Berkeley Township PD's confidential Tip Line, 732-341-1132, extension 611. Callers need not identify themselves.

Police also issue a reminder that an increase in delivery workers is to be expected during holiday season. Legitimate parcel workers are uniformed, driving easily-identified company vehicles and bearing identification.

Berkeley Township detectives are being aided by the Ocean County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit and the Toms River PD Tactical Unit.
