The Beachwood 31-year-old miraculously avoided serious injury when her sport utility vehicle sheared a utility pole on Water Street at about 5:52 AM, bringing it crashing down on the SUV along with live wires.

The road was reopened by 2 PM Monday, about 18 hours after the crash.

Police said the force of impact from the 1993 Ford Explorer broke the pole in two spots.

According to police, Tice told Patrolman Sean Smith that she lost control while changing lanes. She was cited for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failue to provide insurance documents.

Jersey Central Power and Light repairs caused snarls on Water, Main and Washington Streets, Route 166, and Hooper and Hadley Avenues.
