Beach Haven Senior Accused of Molesting Teen

A Beach Haven 82-year-old accused of trying to engage a teen in mutual sexual stimulation awaits processing in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

David T. Wirth was apprehended Tuesday and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal sexual contact, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Investigators say the 15-year-old confided in adults who contacted Long Beach Township police.

The teen related that Wirth touched his genital area three times and placed the teen's hand on his own private parts, investigators said.

Wirth's bail was set at $50,000 with no option for release on payment of 10 percent. He was also ordered to comply with Nicole's Law in having no contact with the alleged victim.
