Bayville woman killed in Upstate New York car accident

36-year-old Carrie Ann Ganley of Bayville was a passenger in a 2015 BMW that reportedly crashed into a tractor-trailer on Route 17 west in Mamakating Wednesday morning, according to New York State Police.

NJ Advance Media reports Ganley was pronounced dead at the scene. The BMW driver, Alekos Patentas of Holmdel, was flown to Westchester Medical Center with head injuries.

The truck driver, from Amsterdam, New York, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

A friend of Ganley's has started a GoFundMe page to Ganley's family pay for her funeral expenses.
