Bayville man admits under-age sexual assault

The Bayville 20-year-old accused by a young teen of forcing himself on her last year pleads guilty and heads for sentencing.

Aaron Wittevrongel accepted a second-degree sexual assault charge, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. Sentencing follows a psychological review in Avenel. The charge carries a possible prison term of five to 10 years.

Authorities say that Wittevrongel was 19 and the victim was not yet 13 during the March 29, 2014 incident in Berkeley Township. He was arrested a day later, jailed on $150,000 bail and ordered to avoid contact with the victim. He was released after paying the full bail amount.
