Brick Police launch an investigation into a late afternoon bank robbery. Township Police say they were notified by an alarm company that a robbery was in progress at the Ocean First Bank Branch on Adamston Road at around 3:45 p.m. Friday.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money and indicating that he had a gun but no weapons were shown. The suspect fled with money and entered a green vehicle that witnesses believe was possibly a Mazda.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 foot tall, weighing 180 lbs, wearing a black baseball cap, dark hood coat, a light grey shirt, blue jeans and dark sneakers.

The robbery is being investigated by Detectives Eric Olsen and Thomas Cooney from the Brick Township Police Department Investigations Unit along with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Red Bank Office.
