Bank heist suspect attacked teller, say Brick Township police
The man suspected of trying to hold up a bank in Brick Township just before midday today also allegedly jumped the counter and assaulted the teller, according to police who are circulating surveillance images to establish his identity.
Officers headed to the TD branch in the Brick Plaza on Cedar Bridge Avenue at 11 AM today.
They were told that no weapon was produced, but that the suspect demanded cash, invaded the teller's space behind the counter, assaulted him, and ultimately got no money.
He then fled, jumping the bushes belonging to Mr. Tire, and running toward Route 70, police said.
The teller claimed no injury and required no medical attention, police said.
The suspect remains outside the grip of the law this afternoon.
He's described as a white male, skinny, in his 40s, with a large nose. He wore a black neoprene face mask, a grey, inside-out hoodie, sunglasses and Converse-style sneakers.
Brick police and agents attached to the FBI's Red Bank office are involved in the search. Information regarding the suspect's identity can be given to Brick PD Detective Waleski, 732-262-1170.
