Gas Main Break Shuts Down Route 35 in Ortley Beach

BREAKING NEWS

Route 35 is shut down in Ortley Beach near the border with Seaside Heights after crews working on the reconstruction of the highway reportedly struck a gas main shortly before 9 this morning. Fire crews are said to be evacuating some nearby homes.

Ocean County Hunger Relief will not be thrown out of a warehouse it currently occupies for its food bank and thrift shop on Germania Station Road in Toms River, despite the property recently being sold, according to the non-profit's Executive Director Carol Latif.
