The biggest toll scofflaws on the Atlantic City Expressway have until  next month to pay up or will lose their vehicle registrations.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority has sent letters to  147 people and companies with at least $200 in unpaid tolls warning them that the deadline to settle up is Feb. 7.

They were warned last year that they could lose their registrations.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has run a similar program to try to crack down on toll evaders.

On the road across southern New Jersey, not everyone faces consequences. The Press of Atlantic City reports out-of-state drivers will not have their registrations taken away.
