Thousands of concert-goers were expected to cram into the beaches of Atlantic City today for a concert featuring Florida Georgia Line, and they were going to do the same again on Monday for a Blink 182 concert. Both shows were cancelled last night in advance of Tropical Storm Hermine.

In a statement released Friday evening officials said the shows were cancelled because of public safety concerns due to coastal flooding.

Neither show will be rescheduled, and refunds will be available at the point of purchase. In fact, we've heard that if you paid with a credit card the refund may have already processed on your credit card. If you have any questions, the best bet would be to call wherever you bough the tickets.

The announcement that both shows were cancelled, however, did seem to catch many off guard. They thought today's forecast wasn't too bad. Of course, a lot of fans are disappointed to see both shows be cancelled. It would be a little crazy to have thousands of fans on the beach today (even while the storm is still far away) as coastal flooding has already begun in some southern New Jersey towns. Plus, there's hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment on the beach for the shows so this move definitely makes sense.

Don't believe it? Check out this footage from our sister station in Atlantic City. The beach is definitely already feeling the effects of the storm.
