One of two Atlantic City teenagers shot during an altercation in the city Wednesday has died of his injuries. The second victim is battling to recover.

Angel Mercado-Santiago, 13, died at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center after being found with mortal wounds at about 3 PM Wednesday, according to acting County Prosecutor Jim McClain.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Route 30 and Virginia Avenue, investigators said. Mercado was shot in the chest and a 15-year-old was shot in the leg.

No arrests have yet been completed. Investigators are asking anyone with information leading to suspects to call 609-909-7666.
