The shooting and injury of an Asbury Park man Wednesday night, leads to an arrest of the suspect Thursday.

The Monmouth County Prosecutors office says 24-year-old city resident James Scott faces Attempted Murder and weapons counts for allegedly shooting another city man in the area of Mattison and Elizabeth avenues, striking the victim in the hip.

Investigators say at around 10:24 p.m. Scott pulled up to the 33-year-old victim who was walking, in a dark colored vehicle, then exited the vehicle and brandished a handgun, firing one shot. The victim was taken to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Scott is in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility on $600-thousand dollars bond, no 10 percent option.
