The Garden State Equality official Facebook page has confirmed that one of it’s Asbury Park offices have been attacked earlier yesterday leaving a glass door cracked.

The Executive Director of Garden State Equality, Christian Fuscarino, posted to his Facebook page: “Hate is very much alive in this country, even in Asbury Park. Someone smashed the Garden State Equality door today while I was inside.”

Garden State Equality says that they have surveillance footage and will be handing it over to authorities so that they can conduct an investigation: “We have surveillance footage and fully expect the police to investigate it as an attack on all LGBT people.”

Fuscarino told WOBM News that he was getting ready for an event and two individuals were at the front door and smashed the glass. He goes on to say that there is a sense of hate in this country now and it's coming from the White House. He says the individuals wanted to get there message across of hate because they had attacked the storefront with the LGBT Flag.

There is a donation page set up and proceeds will go to the replacement of the door: www.GardenStateEquality.org/donate
