Arrested for heroin in Toms River, re-arrested in Manchester
The heroin suspect who gave Toms River police a South Toms River address during his arrest in a motel earlier this month faces more charges in Manchester following a raid on a house that police in that township attribute to him.
Glenworth O. Guiste, 38, was charged with three possession-related counts and a weapons offense, culminating a three-week probe of heroin activity suspected to be centered in the Beechmont Street dwelling.
Police said they seized the drugs, a firearm, a 2003 Ford Explorer, and more than $1,800 cash, which they believe to be drug proceeds.
Guiste was delivered to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, in default of $85,000 bail.
Involved in the search were a Manchester K-9 team, uniformed officers and the Toms River PD Special Enforcement Team.
Guiste and a Toms River woman were apprehended May 6 at the township's Comfort Inn. Officers said they found 274 doses of heroin and more than $1,000 cash. His bail, then, was set at $25,000.
