Arrest Made in Ocean County OD Death

One man is under arrest in connection to an overdose death in Brick Township late last year.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says Nicholas Ippolito, 32, of Point Pleasant, was charged with 1st Degree Drug Induced Death and 2nd Degree Manslaughter in the death of Joseph Piezzo, 35.

Piezzo was found inside his Bristol Lane home on December 19, 2013, after officers responded to a reported medical emergency.  He was transported to the hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.  The Medical Examiner later determined that Piezzo died as a result of a negative reaction to prescription and street drugs.

Ippolito was already incarcerated for parole violation at the time of his arrest.  Bond on the new charges was set at $200,000 cash no 10%.
