Have you noticed things going weird lately?  Especially things affecting communication and transportation?  Mercury Retrograde might be to blame.

It's a time when astrologers believe the planet that usually controls important stuff like technology and travel takes a bit of a nap.  The result, they say, can result in mayhem, or at least some inconvenience.

Before you discount the idea as freaky, let me tell you that in the past 48 hours I've had to deal with a cell phone that was constantly rebooting itself (unable to serve as a "smartphone" anymore), large computer files that got stuck in cyberspace, a software program that froze mid-project, and a file naming error that resulted in my having to do 30 minutes of work all over again.

If you'd like to know more about the way Mercury Retrograde can affect us on Earth, I found this article to be helpful:  http://www.astrologyzone.com/forecasts/mercury.html

But if you don't have time to look at it, here's a quick warning:  Now is not a good time to sign formal contracts and agreements.  Be prepared for possible disruptions in your travel plans.  Backup your computer data.  Don't make any big decisions or important moves.

Mercury Retrograde is supposed to last until October 9th.  Good luck getting through it!
