It's hard to believe it, but Memorial Day is just 3 weeks away! Thats right, the unofficial start to the Jersey Shore summer is rapidly approaching. Of course, that also means that tourist season is about to begin at the Shore. So I want to know, what term do you use to describe visitors the shore?

Let me preface this by saying that I have ABSOLUTELY no problem with tourists visiting (and enjoying) our beautiful beaches. After all, why should we be the only ones who get to enjoy the beautiful place that we live, right? Plus, they're great for our economy. Hurricane Sandy surely taught us to take nothing fore granted.

With all of that being said, I'm curious: what term do you use to describe visitors to our area during the summer? Do you call them Bennies or Shoobies? Or is there another word you use? Please be nice!

I was always under the impression that if somebody is visiting the beaches of the northern Jersey Shore they're likely a Benny. If somebody is visiting the beaches of the southern Jersey Shore, they're a Shoobie.

So what word do you use to describe the visitors to our beautiful shore? Leave a comment below to let me know.
