Christie Met by Hecklers at Mt. Laurel Town Hall

Gov. Chris Christie was met by several hecklers from Rowan University at Thursday's Town Hall meeting in Mt. Laurel.

Townsquare Media's David Matthau, who was at the meeting inside the YMCA of Burlington County says Christie was interrupted 6 times by people yelling things out about Bridgegate ("Why did you hire these people and now you're spending my money on this?") and Sandy Aid distribution. The crowd booed them and cops led them out of the building.

“Governor Christie, you hired crooks and liars,” a protester yelled as she was removed from the gymnasium according to the Record.

Journalist Steve Kastenbaum, in tweets from the meeting, reports Christie responded by saying the hecklers only wanted attention for their "partisan agenda" and blamed the media for providing it.

Police removed Rowan University student Michael Brein after he began shouting about the distribution of Superstorm Sandy aid after Christie didn't call on him to ask a question. The 19-year-old says he's affiliated with the left-leaning Working Family Alliance, one of the groups that appeared to loosely coordinate the protest. The group recently filed an ethics complaint against NY-NJ Port Authority chairman David Samson according to the Record accusing him of voting on issues that benefited him and his law firm.

A retired truck driver who Christie called on to ask the final question apologized for the demonstrators.
