Earlier this week we told you about Buddy, the 9-year-old chow mix who had been languishing at the Southern Ocean County Animal Facility for quite some time. We have an update on Buddy, and we want to introduce you to his shelter pal Bolt.

As we mentioned when we first talked about Buddy, he had been dealing with some skin issues. The shelter's staff and partner veterinarians feel that Buddy could benefit from some more time to feel his absolute best before joining his new forever home. A representative from the shelter told us that they'd, "...like to give poor ol' Buddy a chance to get stronger so he can show his true personality".

So stay tuned! We'll keep you updated on Buddy, and we'll let you know as soon as he's up for adoption.

But in the meantime, the shelter told us about another one of their pups in need. Meet Bolt:

Bolt is a neutered 5-year-old pit bull mix who has been at the shelter longer than any other pet.

According to the shelter, Bolt has been there for over 3 months. They tell us that, "he is a smart boy and knows a couple of commands such as sit and paw but could use a little additional training. He is a strong but gentle giant that loves attention. He would do best as an only dog and with a family that is experienced with the breed."

If you're ready to be the family that gives Bolt a Christmas miracle with a loving forever home, you can reach out to the Southern Ocean County Animal Facility by:
