An Arrest is Made in a Lakewood Stabbing
A Lakewood man has been arrested and charged in the stabbing of another resident in the Township Saturday night.
After receiving a tip from a passerby, authorities found the victim, 47 year old Rodrigo Toxtle Cabrera of Lakewood collapsed on the corner of Fourth Street and Lexington Avenue around10:17 pm, according to Ocean County Prosecutor's spokesman Al Della Fave.
A blood trail led police to the Lexington Avenue apartment of 35 year old Gregario Perez, who was taken into custody and charged with second-degree aggravated assault, hindering, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Perez was being held in the Ocean County jail on $130,000 bail.
Authorities say the men had been arguing. The motive is under investigation.
The victim underwent emergency surgery for stomach wounds and was in critical, but stable condition.
