WEST WINDSOR — A person was fatally struck by an Amtrak train on the Northeast Corridor near the Princeton Junction station for the second time in three days on Saturday night.

The incident was first reported on Twitter by NJ Transit because of 45-minute delays created by the incident between New Brunswick and Trenton.

Amtrak spokeswoman Cheryl Kopta told New Jersey 101.5 the Silver Star between New York and Miami with 52 passengers and crew on board struck the person around 8:30 p.m.

No one on board was injured, according to Kopta.

A Princeton High School sophomore was struck and killed by a train Thursday afternoon on the inbound tracks just north of the station in West Windsor. The student's identity was not disclosed.
