Ambulance and Truck Collide in Manchester

Three people were taken to the hospital after an ambulance and a pickup truck collided in Manchester on Saturday.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Route 37 and Colonial Drive around 2:00pm. The ambulance driver, Jennifer Garelick, 25, of Barnegat; the rear passenger, Nicole Christiano, 22, of Toms River; and the patient they were transporting, Marie Hilton, 73, of Whiting, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. All were listed in stable condition as of Saturday evening.

The driver of the pickup, Dajuan Smith, 40, of Toms River, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. The crash shut down the roadway while the scene was being cleared and caused traffic delays of several hours.
