Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested at Gunpoint in Lakewood

A suspected drunk driver involved in an alleged hit and run crash was arrested by Lakewood police at gunpoint Saturday night.

The driver was swerving in and out of oncoming traffic downtown after allegedly hitting a car. Police were alerted shortly before 10 pm and located the driver on Clifton Avenue.

According to The Lakewood Scoop, when the driver refused to stop, an officer pulled in front of the car, but the driver hit the cruiser and kept going. That's when the officer was forced to draw his gun and order the suspect out of the vehicle. The cop dragged the driver from the vehicle and arrested him.
