A concerned Eatontown resident called police shortly after midnight this morning after spotting a man pulling on car door handles and peering through car windows.

Police responded to the area of Broad Street and Eton Place around 12:24 am for a subject allegedly trying to break into vehicles.

The accused was identified as Dean Sutphin, a 19-year-old Eatontown resident, who was later located walking around in the area.

Following an investigation, police placed him under arrest for criminal attempt and burglary.

Sutphin was also found to be in possession of gloves and a ski mask.

He was processed and released on a complaint summons pending review by the Monmouth County Superior Court.
