The police department's Special  Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 30-year-old Gary Fox's residence on Old Street on July 28, 2016.

Investigators seized 540 wax folds of heroin, over a pound and a half of marijuana and $1, 984 in cash, as well as prescription medications, a scale and packaging materials used to distribute narcotics, according to police spokesman Ralph Stocco.

Fox was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of Alprazolam, possession of Suboxone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fox initially was arrested in May, following a month-long investigation into his alleged distribution of heroin, according to Stocco. That probe led to the seizure of 80 wax folds of heroin and $740.00 cash.  A search of a storage unit belonging to Fox uncovered an additional 83 bricks of heroin (4,150 individual doses with a street value of approximately $25,000.00). Fox was charged with distributing heroin, possession of heroin and possession of over one half ounce of heroin (2nd degree).

Fox was being housed in the Ocean County Jail.
