Year-over-year revenues at Atlantic City’s 12 casinos spiked by 3.6 percent in October, but that’s mainly due to the fact that Superstorm Sandy forced the casinos to shut down a year ago.

The casinos brought in more than $216 million from gamblers last month, compared to more than $240 million in September.

“I suspect that if those days had not been knocked out by Hurricane Sandy…there would’ve been a slight dip in revenues,” said Roger Gros with Global Gaming Business magazine.

A third of the casinos still managed to produce a revenue decline in October. Revel, though, saw its intake jump by more than 20 percent.
