We took advantage of Sunday’s beautiful weather to attend the 3rd “Food Truck and Fire Pits” event at Laurita Winery in New Egypt.  Along with our friends Joe and Darlene we arrived just as the gates opened at 11am and found a nice table where we could relax and set up shop.

The guys drank Merlot, the girls enjoyed Sangria and we all tasted a variety of different items from sliders to empanadas.  The crowds poured in throughout the day and it made for some great people watching as they came from all over and….well, I’ll leave the rest up to you.

Whenever Todd Frazier plays close to home you can be sure family and friends flock to the ballpark and that was certainly the case this weekend when Frazier and the Reds were in Philly for three games.  Unfortunately it was not a great weekend for either as Cincinnati lost 2-of-3 and Todd went 1-12 in the series to see his batting average drop from .273 to .258.   The Toms River native does lead the team in home runs, RBI’s and runs scored.

It is really hard to believe that this coming weekend is Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start to the summer tourism season, a season that clearly has many more questions associated with in then answers.

The two big issues in the area between South Seaside Park and Point Pleasant Beach have to do with the road construction project on Route 35 and of course the absence of a boardwalk in part of Seaside Park after last September’s fire.  One thing that will help is plenty of sunny weather but that’s something that business owners and tourism officials have no control of.

Dear Facebook friends!  Please don’t invite me to play any games from Dice with Buddies to Candy Crush Saga.  I’m lucky when I have time to even check out Facebook…never mind get involved in some game…none of which I know how to play anyway.

Thank you and have a nice day.
