It was a night of honors and swearing-in at Tuesday night's Toms River Township Council meeting as the Council voted to increase fees at the township-owner Bey Lea golf course.

The Council Tuesday approved across-the-board fee hikes, fueled largely by maintenance costs and an ambitious capital improvement agenda. A township resident's unlimited season pass now costs just under $2000; out of towners nearly $4000. Limited use, senior, and student fees are proportionately discounted.

Meanwhile, former Council member and current Assemblyman Greg McGuckin swore Alfonso Manforti and Jeffrey Carr into office. Also honored were 2 members of the Toms River Police who were promoted and an Eagle Scout.
