Counterfeiting is nothing new. If you spend any time in New York City, you've certainly seen your fair share of knockoff watches, purses, sunglasses, and electronics. But a phony ketchup running operation in our own backyard?

NJ.com is reporting that an apparent hoax Heinz operation was discovered in a Dover, NJ warehouse when pallets of the suspect sauce blew their tops and made a runny red mess reminiscent of bad Halloween effects all over the place.

It actually could be a serious issue since, at this point, investigators aren't sure what the criminals may have been adulterating the tomato topping with, if anything, to hawk it at a big profit. Obviously, the investigation is ongoing.
